PALINOV, YURI IVANOVICH (BORN 1938). LIVES IN MOSCOW
Palinov is an engineer and a collector of old master prints. He began to collect the prints in the end of 1950s, starting almost from zero. He put together more than 2000 sheets, including prints by famous European, Russian and Oriental engravers. Yuri also collects old photos.
Recently, he gave up a part of his collection. He made a donation of his photos to the museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg: the State Historical Museum, the State Museum of Literature, the State Pushkin Museum, the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg and others. He sold to the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts old master prints, German, French and Dutch, that the Museum was lacking. German old master prints of 15th–16th century were an especially valuable acquisition.
